CMS ANNOUNCES NEW START OF REBILLING DEMONSTRATIONS

On November 15, 2011 CMS announced two new demonstration programs of significant interest to providers -- a Recovery Audit Prepayment Review demonstration that will allow RACs to conduct prepayment reviews in 11 States for certain high-error or high-cost procedures; and a Part A to Part B Rebilling demonstration open to up to 380 hospitals on a voluntary basis. Both were to take effect January 1, 2012. Click here to see the original CMS press release.
